Inspiration 11: Dreams Come True – Become a Rockstar!
I can’t hear the excuses anymore!
- “I’d like to, but I can’t.”
- “My boss would never allow me to do that.”
- “My wife would throw me out, if I would do that.”
Or whatever else excuse they come up with. They all have something in common: They’re a hidden way of saying: “I do not dare to try something unknown.” Or: “I’m scared shitless.”
Do it for yourself
Being scared of new things is okay. But look at the wishes and dreams that you carry around with you since ages. Aren’t they withering slowly away in your head?
There are too many people, who muffle their dreams because of perceived strictures of society, their environment or their own insecurities. In their job, they abandon their ideas because they would have to walk unknown paths. What if something goes wrong?
Or they learn to play the guitar for years and feel competent enough to join a band – but then they get this nasty stage fright.
The point is: You do not have to humor everyone, just yourself. You want to be on stage? Go for it! No matter how wrong your singing sounds.
Or do you want to close the big client with a new strategy? Then get to work! No matter how full your pants are. You will grow and do something good for yourself.
Dreams are supposed to be lived out
I am sick of watching people let their fear of failure, fear of making a fool of themselves, fear of not being smart or good enough get the best of them. This fear has destroyed more dreams than actual obstacles did.
So stop listening to others and seeing yourself as the poor victim. All mentioned reasons aren’t real obstacles – they just make your new path a bit more “uncomfortable” because it’s new.
Be aware of the following: You are the only one responsible for your fortune and only you know what is best for you. Do dare realizing a long-cherished dream against all conventions, if it is really important to you.
No matter how much discomfort your vision of the process gives you and how overwhelmed you may feel.
Ask more of yourself
You have the strength and you will see this: Once you get into action, the fear and discomfort will disappear almost completely. Realizing your very own wishes will give you a deep feeling of satisfaction.
But until you get going, you’ll have no idea of how much it is worth to get out on a limb and try something new. Because when you realize your dreams, you will become a Rockstar – at the guitar or just for yourself, because you will have finally dared to overwhelm yourself and grow through it.
My advice is therefore: Test unknown waters – over and over, even if it is sometimes unpleasant. Consciously get out of your comfort zone and see what’s waiting for you beyond that.
I promise you, you will find personal growth. Even if you fail on the way to your goal, you will get to know yourself and your limits better and enrich your life with new experiences. This will automatically strengthen your self-confidence.
And be honest: realizing your own dreams makes you pretty happy, right?
I wish you success and pleasure in tackling your challenges with open arms!
